Hi-

I began using the DiscSox sleeves about 2 years ago when I felt we were going to be overrun with plastic, storage bins and the like. WOW! I love them and have shared our enthusiasm with many friends. Thank you for creating such a wonderful product.

Now, we are using the Blu-Ray sleeves and newer DVD sleeves. I just adore the newer sleeve (with the archival material instead of plastic) and am thinking of replacing our first-round sleeves with the new ones (it does seem a bit extreme and wasteful, but we really like the newer sleeves even though we never thought you could improve upon the product!). We are also going to revamp our CD storage system in favor of DiscSox sleeves – we can’t wait!!

Thanks for the ingenuity!

Just a couple of days ago, Patent No 7,458,459 has been granted for our DVD2 and CD Pro sleeves.  Now most of the DiscSox sleeves do have have patent protection.

This includes: DVD Pro Poly, HiDef Pro, DVD2, CD Pro, Game Pro Poly, Game Pro PS3, Game, Video-CD, Photo4x6, Photo5x7.

Why is this important as an end-user?
A patent ensures that you that you are looking at a product that is innovative, unique, highly functional and has been thoroughly scrutinized by an independent party (the Patent and Trademark Office).

Also, we are constantly innovating and improving our designs. As an example, we just switched the DVD Pro from a vinyl based material to environmentally friendly polypropylene. At the same time, we were able to lower the price by about 15%, which is quite unusual in this market…

Also, we are in the process of making the transition to polypropylene for all our sleeves, which requires quite an investment in new tooling.  It is not as simple as it sounds, because DiscSox sleeves do have very tight tolerances and are very complex compared to most sleeves on the market.

Stay tuned,

- Marcello

You may have noticed that the CD Pro Sleeves have changed slightly with the newest version. There are two improvements:

  1. The opening for inserting the tray card moved from the right to the left side of the sleeve. Why the change? -  It improves the ease of use
Customers are used to insert CDs, booklets etc from the right into DiscSox Sleeves.
When inserting a tray card, one typically turns the sleeve over. So for consistency, the opening should again be on the right when the sleeve is turned over. That means when the CD Pro is viewed from the front, the opening for the tray card has to be on the left.
  2. The pocket that holds the tray card is only partially sealed at the bottom. Why the change? -  It makes inserting tray cards easier
DiscSox sleeves always had pockets with a partially sealed edges for storing the actual CDs or booklets.  It makes it a lot easier to access content if the edge can be lifted up.
If a pocket is sealed all the way on three sides, it is not easy to get to the content. This is why we partially seal the lower edge of the rear pocket that holds the tray card.
